Lag your outdoor tap if you have finished using it for the year, so it’s not harmed by a cold winter. If it drips, get the washer changed to avoid it freezing up.

Pick all outdoor tomatoes. Unripe but full-sized fruit should quickly ripen indoors if put in a box with a ripe banana, but avoid any sunny windowsills.

Treat wooden fences, the shed, and any posts with timber preservative to protect them from rotting and extend their life.
