Nigel rewarded for services to city history
THOSE who contribute to the preservation of local history do what they do for the love of it – it’s rarely a role that brings great financial reward, even though their work brings great benefits to us all.
So it was nice to see one of the Black Country’s history aficionados recognised recently with a prestigious award.
Last week Nigel Martin, pictured left, was presented with The Wolverhampton Society’s Richard Rhodes award, for his work in promoting and preserving the history and heritage of the city over many years.
Nigel has restored many famous Wolverhampton motorbikes such as the Sunbeam 1927 Model 5, and he has also recently rebuilt an AJS car which was once owned by A.J. Stevens himself.
