ROBERT Haynes, in his letter on page 9, gave us some more information on Wolverhampton singer Dane Tempest, having read Paul Morris’s pieces over recent weeks.

But Robert has also dug out some curious facts about another musical act recently featured in the Bugle, as he tells us here: “I’ve just seen your article about the Langley Brass Band, and I just so happen to know that the band made an album that was self-titled, released in 1968.

“The label was Morgan Records, a small independent label run by Barry Morgan who was the drummer in a band called Blue Mink, a 1970s band whose hits included Melting Pot, Good Morning Freedom and Our World (all released originally on the Philips label), and for EMI there were the hits Stay With Me, The Banner Man, By The Devil (I Was Tempted) and Randy, all UK chart hits between 1970 and 1973.

“The Langley Band’s only album first came out late in 1968, the information is available via the Discogs website through checking out a label called Morgan Records.

The album bore the catalogue number MR105P, and on its release cost £1.8.3.
