Creativity goes on show during Ericht Art Club’s annual Town Hall exhibition

-

The Ericht Art Club recently held its annual exhibition at Blairgowrie Town Hall.

On display were landscapes, wildlife and farmlife images, local scenes, portraits and even some gothic art by new member Dougie Mackie Jnr.

Every year, visitors to the exhibition are asked to vote for their favourite picture, and this year another new member, Paula Anderson, was the people’s choice with her graphite picture of the Elusive Pinemartin.

Club secretary Tina Gliddon said: “Well done to Paula, she is a new member of the club and her work is amazing.

“The Ericht Art Club has been going for 18 years now.

“We meet up every Thursday evening at Blairgowrie Parish Church Hall and have a good mix of members of all ages and abilities.

“We are a friendly group and have social events and gallery visits each year as well as our exhibition.

“The exhibition this year was great, we had lots of people in viewing and admiring the art work and sold a number of pieces.

“We were offering refreshments and home baking this year as well which was popular with visitors to the exhibition.

“We had some lovely comments in our visitors’ book praising the impressive and high standard of work and the variety of talent on show.

“On behalf of the club I would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the exhibition, the Blairgowrie Town Hall committee members for their support, Blairgowrie Learning Centre for lending us the exhibition screens, Dundee Art Society for the hanging equipment, Jillian Page from Something Special Flowers for the floral displays and all the club members who baked such lovely cakes.”
