Have your say on childcare
Perth and Kinross Council is seeking the views of parents and carers with babies, under-fives and school-age children regarding care and early education provision in the local area.
Under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, councils are required to consult with families with young children no less than every two years regarding the entitlement to early learning and childcare (formerly known as pre-school education), and childcare in the broadest sense.
The local authority is therefore conducting a survey of local parents, the results of which will be used to inform future options offered to families accessing funded early learning and childcare places, and the childcare strategy team’s work to support the development of sustainable childcare services across Perth and Kinross.
The survey is general in nature and council officials say that it should take no more than 15 minutes to complete online by going to www.pkc.gov.uk/ families.
Alternatively, paper copies can be obtained from any council-run nursery class or by contacting the childcare strategy team on 01738 472350 or emailing childcare@pkc. gov.uk. The survey will be open until December 31.
