Right Track forteen
A teenager caught with two knives in Coupar Angus has been given a further spell on the Right Track scheme, designed to keep youngsters out of trouble.
Nineteen-year-old Stewart Ramsay, previously of Strathmore Avenue, Coupar Angus, admitted having the blades in the town’s George Street and Strathmore Avenue on November 3, 2015.
A not guilty plea was accepted to a second charge of holding one of the weapons to his throat and threatening to commit suicide.
He also admitted a second charge of assaulting his mother, Cheryl, at his former home on June 22 last year by lunging towards her and striking her on the head, causing her to fall to the ground, to her injury.
At his latest appearance at Perth Sheriff Court, it emerged that there had been a recent bereavement in his family.
It was agreed that he be given further support from Right Track.
He will return to court for sentence on April 12 and has been told to stay out of further trouble until then.
