Rat­tray and District Pres­i­dent Mar­garet Wat­son wel­comed all mem­bers, vis­i­tors and guests to the Jan­uary ‘Games Night’ meet­ing.

Teams of mem­bers took part in a se­ries of games against the clock.

These in­cluded in­door curl­ing, get the shut­tle­cock in the bucket and hole the golf ball.

Much hi­lar­ity was had by all.

Bronze medals were won by ‘The Sil­ver Dar­lings’ with 64 points, sil­ver won by ‘Con­fused.com’ with 67 points and gold by the ‘Hug­gers’ with 71 points.

Mar­garet thanked all for tak­ing part and Jacqueline Ed­wards thanked the judges of the com­pe­ti­tions, the com­mit­tee for or­gan­is­ing the games and also the mem­bers for com­ing along and join­ing in.

Bur­rel­ton and Wood­side All were wel­comed by the pres­i­dent, Irene Smith to the most re­cent meet­ing. Af­ter busi­ness was fin­ished, Irene in­tro­duced Janet Reay from Trad­ing Stan­dards who gave a very de­tailed talk on scams and cold call­ers.

Com­pe­ti­tions: Triple Sand­wich - 1 Kath­leen Pirie, 2 Mar­garet Gor­don, 3 Anne Robert­son; 4 lines of a Scot­tish poem in their own words - 1 Mary Smith, 2 Meg Sword, 3 Kath­leen Pirie; Flower of the Month - Anne Robert­son.

Mei­gle The Jan­uary meet­ing was held at Mei­gle Church Hall. Pres­i­dent Catherine Ritchie wel­comed mem­bers to a Rob­bie Burns Quiz evening and gave the vote of thanks. The hostesses were the com­mit­tee.

Com­pe­ti­tion: Scot­tish Poem - 1 Catherine Ritchie; Flower of the month - 1 Mau­reen Milne.

The next meet­ing will be on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 16 at 7.30pm and will fea­ture a talk en­ti­tled ‘Abernyte An­tiques’.

Clu­nie The Jan­uary meet­ing took place on Mon­day, Jan­uary 8 when mem­bers en­joyed a talk en­ti­tled ‘Rem­i­nis­cences’.
