Rattray and District President Margaret Watson welcomed all members, visitors and guests to the January ‘Games Night’ meeting.

Teams of members took part in a series of games against the clock.

These included indoor curling, get the shuttlecoc­k in the bucket and hole the golf ball.

Much hilarity was had by all.

Bronze medals were won by ‘The Silver Darlings’ with 64 points, silver won by ‘Confused.com’ with 67 points and gold by the ‘Huggers’ with 71 points.

Margaret thanked all for taking part and Jacqueline Edwards thanked the judges of the competitio­ns, the committee for organising the games and also the members for coming along and joining in.

Competitio­ns: Design a tee shirt for Ruralympic­s - 1 Pat Richards, 2 Muriel Brown, 3 Mary Birch; Energy Bar - 1 Anne Simpson, 2 Kate Imlay, 3 Kathleen McCormick; Flower of the Month - Margot Murray.

Burrelton and Woodside All were welcomed by the president, Irene Smith to the most recent meeting. After business was finished, Irene introduced Janet Reay from Trading Standards who gave a very detailed talk on scams and cold callers.

Competitio­ns: Triple Sandwich - 1 Kathleen Pirie, 2 Margaret Gordon, 3 Anne Robertson; 4 lines of a Scottish poem in their own words - 1 Mary Smith, 2 Meg Sword, 3 Kathleen Pirie; Flower of the Month - Anne Robertson.

Meigle The January meeting was held at Meigle Church Hall. President Catherine Ritchie welcomed members to a Robbie Burns Quiz evening and gave the vote of thanks. The hostesses were the committee.

Competitio­n: Scottish Poem - 1 Catherine Ritchie; Flower of the month - 1 Maureen Milne.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, February 16 at 7.30pm and will feature a talk entitled ‘Abernyte Antiques’.

Clunie The January meeting took place on Monday, January 8 when members enjoyed a talk entitled ‘Reminiscen­ces’.
