Get yourself ready for another Really Interesting Experience

-

Following a successful inaugural event last year, the Really Interesting Experience returns to Blairgowrie Town Hall next month.

The Really Interesting Experience 2 will take place on Saturday, October 14.

Last year around 300 people visited the show, which featured the Rattray Silver Arrow and part of the meteorite that landed locally in 1917.

Many other local artefacts were on view and this year a different selection of artefacts will be showcased.

A spokesperson for the organisers commented: “In view of the recent publicity about the lack of a museum or heritage centre in Blairgowrie and Rattray, it is hoped that this exhibition will go some way to support any plans for a permanent home for these interesting local cultural objects.”

A number of local people have already promised to loan items for the one-day display, but organisers are keen to hear from other people who may have more items in lofts or attics that would be suitable for display.

The spokesperson added: “What some people regard as junk, others would find very interesting, if only because it’s no longer manufactured or it is dated.

“The more items that can be exhibited the greater the impact and the greater the pressure to find a permanent home for a museum and heritage centre for the town.”

Anyone wishing to loan items for the day should contact Graham Reid on 01250 874230 during office hours.
