Harvest was the theme of a Messy Church at Blairgowrie Parish Church on Sunday.
Jim Taylor, seen above, showed children how to use a grinding stone and mortar and pestle to grind wheat, barley, coffee, tea, cocoa, and many other harvest produce – skills he learned as a planter in Malaysia.

On Sunday the family and friends of Freddie Scott Halhead were welcomed as Freddie was baptised during the service at St Catharine’s, Blairgowrie. Congregation members were invited to reflect on what it means to belong, and reminded that through his baptism Freddie now belongs to God’s worldwide church. Those gathered also celebrated the Eucharist at St Ninian’s, Alyth, and St Anne’s, Coupar Angus.
The parent and toddler group held in St Anne’s church hall, Coupar Angus, has restarted after the October holidays. All are welcome on Mondays from 9.30am to 11.30am.
Copies of the calendar produced by EPACTS, matching local photos by amateur photographers to Bible verses can now be ordered from EPACTS reps.

Members of the congregations will lead a service at Beech Manor Care Home, Golf Course Road on Thursday, October 26.
Members of St Ninian’s will meet for prayer on Thursday, October 26, in the afternoon.
The joint service for all congregations which was scheduled to take place at St Catharine’s on Sunday, October 29, will now take place at St Anne’s at 10.30am.
The deadline for sending in material for the winter edition of Saints Alive, the combined magazine, is November 12.
Through Advent we will be using ‘Lighted Windows’, a book of reflections by Margaret Silf, as a basis for a weekly discussion group. Please contact Lis Burke for copies of the book. The first discussion will be on Wednesday, November 29.
Next Sunday there will be a joint service when members of all congregations will worship together. This will take place at 10.30am in St Anne’s, Coupar Angus.
