Har­vest was the theme of a Messy Church at Blair­gowrie Par­ish Church on Sun­day.

Jim Taylor, seen above, showed chil­dren how to use a grind­ing stone and mor­tar and pes­tle to grind wheat, bar­ley, cof­fee, tea, co­coa, and many other har­vest pro­duce – skills he learned as a planter in Malaysia.

Other ac­tiv­i­ties in the church hall in­cluded

On Sun­day the fam­ily and friends of Fred­die Scott Hal­head were wel­comed as Fred­die was bap­tised dur­ing the ser­vice at St Catharine’s, Blair­gowrie. Con­gre­ga­tion mem­bers were in­vited to re­flect on what it means to be­long, and re­minded that through his bap­tism Fred­die now be­longs to God’s world­wide church. Those gath­ered also cel­e­brated the Eucharist at St Ninian’s, Alyth, and St Anne’s, Coupar An­gus.

The par­ent and tod­dler group held in St Anne’s church hall, Coupar An­gus, has restarted af­ter the October hol­i­days. All are wel­come on Mon­days from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Copies of the calendar pro­duced by EPACTS, match­ing lo­cal photos by am­a­teur pho­tog­ra­phers to Bi­ble verses can now be ordered from EPACTS reps.

‘Ques­tions of Be­lief ’ will meet for dis­cus­sion at 12.30pm on Wed­nes­day, October 25. Please note the change of time.

Mem­bers of the con­gre­ga­tions will lead a ser­vice at Beech Manor Care Home, Golf Course Road on Thurs­day, October 26.

Mem­bers of St Ninian’s will meet for prayer on Thurs­day, October 26, in the af­ter­noon.

The joint ser­vice for all con­gre­ga­tions which was sched­uled to take place at St Catharine’s on Sun­day, October 29, will now take place at St Anne’s at 10.30am.

The dead­line for send­ing in ma­te­rial for the win­ter edi­tion of Saints Alive, the com­bined mag­a­zine, is Novem­ber 12.

Through Ad­vent we will be us­ing ‘Lighted Win­dows’, a book of re­flec­tions by Mar­garet Silf, as a ba­sis for a weekly dis­cus­sion group. Please con­tact Lis Burke for copies of the book. The first dis­cus­sion will be on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 29.

Next Sun­day there will be a joint ser­vice when mem­bers of all con­gre­ga­tions will wor­ship to­gether. This will take place at 10.30am in St Anne’s, Coupar An­gus.
