Strathmore Screen returns
The latest offerings from the Strathmore Screen community cinema will be shown at Blairgowrie Town Hall on Sunday, October 29.
First on the bill this month is The Jungle Bunch (U) at 4pm.
This is the first big screen adventure for the stars of the popular animated series of the same name, and sees the Jungle Bunch on a mission to save their jungle home from an evil koala and his gang of baboons.
It is up to Maurice, a tiger-striped kung-fu penguin and his friends to save the day against the most dangerous enemy they have encountered.
The evening film for October is Victoria and Abdul (PG) at 7pm.
Victoria & Abdul is a biographical comedydrama film directed by Stephen Frears and written by Lee Hall. It is based on the book of same name by Shrabani Basu, and on the real-life relationship between Queen Victoria and her Indian Muslim servant Abdul Karim. An unofficial sequel to the 1997 film Mrs Brown, it stars Judi Dench, Ali Fazal, Michael Gambon, Eddie Izzard, Tim Pigott-Smith - in his last film role - and Adeel Akhtar.
Tickets are on sale from Mitchell’s Newsagents on Blairgowrie High Street and the Calutek store, priced £6.50 for adults, £5.50 concessions and £5 for children. Family tickets – for one adult and up to three children or two adults and two children – are £21. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each film. Refreshments and home baking available.
