Play­ers take show on road to Alyth

Blair­gowrie Play­ers will be tak­ing their suc­cess­ful panto ‘Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves’ on tour to Alyth in Jan­uary.

Pres­i­dent Gra­ham Reid said: “Back in the 1970s the Play­ers took their pan­tos to Perth The­atre for a cou­ple of per­for­mances.

“Here we are, over 40 years later, and we will be go­ing in the op­postie di­rec­tion to Alyth.

“It’s a bit of an ex­per­i­ment and it will cer­tainly be dif­fer­ent, per­form­ing on an­other stage us­ing equip­ment that we are not used to.

“But we hope to put a smile on the faces of the res­i­dents of the Alyth area dur­ing the dark, gloomy days of Jan­uary.

“We will be per­form­ing two mati­nee shows so that young chil­dren can come along as well as older peo­ple who might not want to ven­ture out dur­ing the evening.”

‘Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves’ will be in Alyth Town Hall on Satur­day and Sun­day, Jan­uary 20 and 21, at 2pm.
