Blair hosts fundrais­ing com­edy night

Fol­low­ing the suc­cess of pre­vi­ous sim­i­lar events, the Royal High­land Ed­u­ca­tion Trust (RHET) Perth and Kin­ross is hold­ing a fundrais­ing com­edy night in Blair­gowrieTown Hall in Fe­bru­ary.

Tick­ets are avail­able now for the com­edy night, which will be head­lined by stand-up co­me­dian Phil Dif­fer.

Phil Dif­fer has a ca­reer span­ning over 35 years and been be­hind many of Scot­land’s best-loved com­edy shows in­clud­ing Chewin’the Fat, Still Game and Off­side.

The evening’s en­ter­tain­ment will be com­pered by an­other well-known co­me­dian – Gra­ham Mackie - who per­forms reg­u­larly in Glas­gow and also makes reg­u­lar ap­pear­ances on BBC Scot­land’s Call Kay andThe Fred Ma­cAulay Show.

Lo­cal‘stand-up farmer’Jim Smith is also on the bill. A pre­vi­ous chair­man of RHET and well-known across Scot­land for his ru­ral hu­mour and im­pres­sions, he has re­cently starred in tele­vi­sion show Scot Squad.

RHET Perth and Kin­ross is a char­ity ded­i­cated to ed­u­cat­ing chil­dren across the re­gion about food, farm­ing and the coun­try­side.

Alix Ritchie, RHET pro­ject co­or­di­na­tor for Perth and Kin­ross, is look­ing for­ward to the night.

She said:“We are de­lighted with the top line-up of co­me­di­ans for the RHET com­edy night.

“RHET Perth and Kin­ross has re­cently cre­ated a bus fund to al­low fi­nan­cial sup­port for schools to pay to­wards bus costs – the main con­tribut­ing fac­tor in get­ting chil­dren out to the coun­try­side.

“Hope­fully this event will boost the money avail­able to schools in the fu­ture.”

The com­edy night will take place at Blair­gowrieTown Hall on the evening of Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 24. Doors open 7.30pm and there will be a cash bar avail­able.

Tick­ets cost £15 (book­ing fees ap­ply) and can be pur­chased on EventBrite by search­ing for RHET Com­edy Night.
