Blair hosts fundraising comedy night
Following the success of previous similar events, the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) Perth and Kinross is holding a fundraising comedy night in BlairgowrieTown Hall in February.
Tickets are available now for the comedy night, which will be headlined by stand-up comedian Phil Differ.
Phil Differ has a career spanning over 35 years and been behind many of Scotland’s best-loved comedy shows including Chewin’the Fat, Still Game and Offside.
The evening’s entertainment will be compered by another well-known comedian – Graham Mackie - who performs regularly in Glasgow and also makes regular appearances on BBC Scotland’s Call Kay andThe Fred MacAulay Show.
Local‘stand-up farmer’Jim Smith is also on the bill. A previous chairman of RHET and well-known across Scotland for his rural humour and impressions, he has recently starred in television show Scot Squad.
RHET Perth and Kinross is a charity dedicated to educating children across the region about food, farming and the countryside.
Alix Ritchie, RHET project coordinator for Perth and Kinross, is looking forward to the night.
She said:“We are delighted with the top line-up of comedians for the RHET comedy night.
“RHET Perth and Kinross has recently created a bus fund to allow financial support for schools to pay towards bus costs – the main contributing factor in getting children out to the countryside.
“Hopefully this event will boost the money available to schools in the future.”
The comedy night will take place at BlairgowrieTown Hall on the evening of Saturday, February 24. Doors open 7.30pm and there will be a cash bar available.
