New chair for book fest
The BOOKMARK festival is to have a new chair.
Blairgowrie-based Gail Wylie, who is currently chair of the Muriel Spark Society, has taken on the role after former chair of the Blairgowrie, Rattray and the Glens festival, Janey Lambie, stood down from the position last month.
The popular annual festival is working towards becoming an incorporated charity next year and Janey said that after what she described as a “whirlwind” year at the helm, the time was right for her to stand down.
Speaking at the organisation’s Christmas party recently, Janey explained: “I am keen that the committee has as long as possible to regroup after what was a very successful festival in October and, under new leadership, to begin t o p l a n t h e 2 0 1 8 p ro g ra mme, and to set up the new committee structures necessary for April 1 next year when BOOKMARK plans to become an incorporated Scottish charity.
“It has been both an honour and a great privilege to serve as chair of BOOKMARK, and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the BOOKMARK trustees, executive
