Blairgowrie Advertiser

The Blairie will now hit the streets on a Tuesday

-

Tuesdays have just got better.

In an exciting new development, the Blairgowrie Advertiser will bring you the best news and sports coverage in Blairgowrie and east Perthshire a day earlier.

We’ve always been the best-read local newspaper in the area, packed full of informative, entertaining and ground-breaking stories - and that won’t change.

Neither will our commitment to bring you exclusives, to continue to tackle the issues that matter most to our communities, hold those in power to account, stick up for local people and celebrate all that is great about this area.

So, from January 16, we will bring you the same high quality journalism, pictures and sport from across our towns and villages - a day earlier making us the only local paper you need to buy on a Tuesday.

Tuesdays have just got better.

From next week the Blairgowrie Advertiser will bring you the best news and sports coverage in Blairgowrie and east Perthshire a day earlier.

We’ve always been the best-read local newspaper, packed full of informative, entertaining and ground-breaking stories and that won’t change.

Neither will our commitment to bring you exclusives, to continue to tackle the issues that matter most to our communities, hold those in power to account, stick up for local people and celebrate all that is great about this area.

Like the time we broke the news that the former Hill Primary School site was sold by the council for £1, or our coverage of local residents’ concerns about what many feel is the over-development of the town without adequate infrastructure.

Our in-depth coverage of local events - everything from local festivals such as the Snowdrop Festival, Alyth Creates and BOOKMARK to traditional dates in the east Perthshire calendar like the Alyth Show, the Strathardle Gathering, Braemar Day and the Blairgowrie Highland Games - will continue.

Our deadlines for the paper will be changing as well, meaning that from this week on, we will need our contributed copy by 4pm on the Friday before the paper comes out, with the only exceptions being sports match reports and the church news, which will need to be in by 9am on a Monday morning.

So, from January 16, we will bring you the same high quality journalism, pictures and sport from across our towns and villages - a day earlier - making us the only local paper you need to buy on a Tuesday. Clare Damodaran Editor Blairgowrie Advertiser
