Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus facilities to receive £60k facelift
Two play parks in east Perthshire are set to be upgraded soon - as long as the council can find suitable contractors to complete the work.
The local authority has had to re-tender work at parks in Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus plus two parks in Perth and one in Almondbank after no awards were made when the work last went out to tender.
The latest invitation to tender published on the Public Contracts Scotland website says each project will be awarded under a separate contract and the estimated maximum total value of the work is £204,000.
The play parks picked for the upcoming revamp are Ardblair Terrace in Blairgowrie, Sidlaw Place in Coupar Angus, Friarton Park and Mathieson Drive in Perth and Kirkhall Park in Almondbank.
Perth and Kinross Council estimates that the work on the Ardblair Terrace and Sidlaw Place play areas will be worth between £30,000 and £33,000 each. And the local authority says that work on the upgrade will be finished within five weeks of the start date.
The contract notice states: “The play area upgrades include the refurbishment and/or replacement of existing play equipment. The council will purchase any new play equipment required for the projects.
“The projects will run concurrently in quarter two [of ] 2018 with completion by the middle of June 2018. Each project will be awarded under a separate contract.”
