Praise for prize pupils
Pupils at Kirkmichael Primary School have been recognised for their achievements this year.
The school was closed in March due to restrictions imposed as part of efforts to tackle the global coronavirus pandemic.
But staff have continued to teach through a variety of online platforms, supported by parents who have been home-schooling throughout the pandemic.
The school year ended on Wednesday last week and although pupils up and down the country missed out on the usual celebrations to mark the occasion, head teacher at Kirkmichael, Craig Loudon, wanted to ensure that the achievements of local pupils were still acknowledged.
He presented each of the prize winners with their certificates and awards while adhering to strict social distancing guidelines.
Mr Loudon also presented the primary seven leavers with certificates and wished them all the best in secondary school.
He told the Blairie: “I would like to thank the school staff for their commitment to the children and the life of the school, and in particular their efforts in supporting parents and pupils with home learning during lockdown.
“A huge thank you also to all parents for their efforts at home. You have been supportive, patient and understanding with all of our staff.
“And good luck and farewell to our P7 pupils.”
