Events lined up by the Cateran Ecomuseum
Three new guided walking and cycling events are taking place this month thanks to the team behind the innovative Cateran Ecomuseum.
The first event takes place on Sunday, June 13, from 11am.
Photographer George Logan will lead a free guided walk looking at the archeology of Auchenchapel Loch in Glenisla.
The walk is about three-miles long with some rough ground and it will take between three to four hours to discover the ancient hut circles, shielings and more.
There will also be time for a picnic lunch.
The second session is also free and takes place on Tuesday, June 15, from 12.15pm until around 5.30pm.
This event involves capturing the spirit of the Cateran Ecomuseum’s car-free travel project, with environmentalist and sustainable tourism expert, Janet Hunter, who is also one of the directors of the Cateran Ecomuseum.
Participants will catch the bus from Blairgowrie to Bridge of Cally, walk eight-miles of the Cateran Trail up the glen to Kirkmichael, exploring the stories of the places on the way and then return by bus to Blairgowrie.
And then on Sunday, June 27, from 11am to around 3pm, mountain bike leader Rosie Baxendine will head up a family-friendly mountain biking adventure near Lintrathen.
This relaxed cycle around some of the roads and tracks near the hamet will take in an impressive waterfall and a picnic lunch by a loch.
Prices are £35 per adult and £20 for those under 16, with second children free. No unaccompanied children are permitted.
Bike hire is available at £15 per bike.
