Free Pilates

- Committees should email susiemblack@gmail.com

A Coupar Angus-based fitness instructor is offering a selection of free Pilates sessions in Strathmore.

Susie Black has been running her popular Pilates classes online since March last year.

However, as Covid-19 restrictions are gradually eased, she has been looking at ways to return to in-person teaching.

She said:“From the research that I’ve carried out, I can see that for all of us who are nervous, there are many others eager to return to group activities.

“For this reason, I’ve teamed up with local halls to offer a selection of free Pilates sessions throughout the Strathmore area in June and July.

“One of the reasons they are free is that the capacity for group exercise in our local halls is still much diminished as a result of Covid distancing procedures.

“It’s unlikely that we’ll have our usual class sizes back before autumn which would have a strong impact on the costs of a class.

“My questionnaires have shown that few people are interested in paying extra for smaller class sizes, preferring the bustle of a busy class instead.

“By attending these free classes, people will have the opportunity to return to their local halls and spend a little time with others.

“I would like to offer my thanks to the hall committees for providing these facilities free of charge.”

The first sessions take place on Saturday, June 12, at 9.30am in Kettins Parish Hall and at 11am St Anne’s Hall, Forfar Road, Coupar Angus, and again in the same venues at the same times on Saturday, June 26.
