FLYING THE FLAG AT SCHOOL
Pupils show their creativity
Talented pupils at Coupar Angus Primary School have been recognised for their creativity in a competition organised by the school and the 2 Sisters Food Group.
The youngsters made flags which will be displayed in the staff canteen at the 2 Sisters Food Group poultry processing plant in the east Perthshire town.
And seven lucky winners from classes at the school were presented with gift vouchers worth £25 donated by the company for their designs.
Head teacher at Coupar Angus Primary School, Nikki Drew, said: “Children from across Coupar Angus Primary School took part in making flags to be displayed at the 2 Sisters Food Group processing plant.
“The children enjoyed using their skills in geography to choose a particular country and did some research on its nature, culture and history in order to create beautiful eye-catching posters and flags.
“We’re very proud of the children and their efforts and are looking forward to continuing to work with the 2 Sisters Food Group on other projects and initiatives in the future.”
A spokesperson for 2 Sisters Food Group added: “We were looking for some nice pictures to brighten up our staff canteen in Coupar Angus.
“The site employs 24 different nationalities so we thought pictures of flags from around the world with a few interesting facts for ‘World Day’ on May 21 would be a wonderful opportunity to engage with the local primary school.”
