Pupils are praised
Prize-giving ceremony
Youngsters at Rattray Primary School were presented with prizes marking their achievements at a special outdoor ceremony in the runup to the end of term.
And the celebration also saw the school’s primary seven pupils receive ties for their new high schools, ready for the next stage of their school life.
Headteacher at Rattray Primary School, Joanna Robertson, congratulated the pupils on their efforts, saying that as well as trophies for those who had worked hard during the year, there were also certificates for “good learners, pupils who are kind and caring, pupils who never leave anyone out and pupils who like to look after everyone”.
She also took the opportunity to thank staff at the school, commenting: “The commitment they give our school, and the many things they do over and above for our pupils, doesn’t go unnoticed.
“The last two years have been really challenging for everyone, and the school staff have gone above and beyond for our school and are all very special to our Rattray bairns.”
Mrs Robertson paid tribute to the primary seven pupils who are leaving the school this term, and wished them well for the future.
She said: “Sadly, the time with our P7s was cut short again this year.
“We could not have asked for a lovelier bunch of kids this year.
“They have been great role models to our younger pupils and have certainly kept Mrs Johnstone and Mrs McCarthy on their toes.
“They are a lovely group of children, and all the staff are very fond of them.
“Every one of our P7s has wonderful talents and skills that the staff have loved watching grow over the years.
“You are remembered for the impact you make on others, and the lives you change.
“So remember, be the best you can be, using all the talents that you have and all the things you have learnt at Rattray.”
