Volunteers out in force in drive to keep town clean

-

Volunteers on the most recent community litter pick in Blairgowrie and Rattray collected 33 bags of rubbish.

Sticking to government Covid-19 guidelines, representatives from award-winning environmental group Blair in Bloom, the Blairgowrie and Rattray Access Network, Blairgowrie Rotary Club and Proactive Communities met at various locations to clear rubbish.

Local councillors Caroline Shiers and Bob Brawn also took part.

The event is coordinated by Janine Seymour, a member of the Rotary Club and vice-chair of Blair in Bloom.

She told the Blairie: “There was an excellent turnout of volunteers. “Altogether, we collected 33 bags. “This month I think one of the more unusual items were two golf balls that were found in Coupar Angus Road, some way off from the golf course!”

“Thank you to all the volunteers who are doing a great job keeping Blairgowrie and Rattray a clean and pleasant place.”
