Covid drop-ins set to continue

-

East Perthshire residents are reminded that there’s still time to get their Covid-19 vaccination as drop-in clinics continue over the coming weeks.

Anyone aged 16 or over can attend any of the drop-in clinics for their first jab or for their second dose, if they are at eight weeks or more since their first.

NHS Tayside director of public health, Dr Emma Fletcher, said:“As cases continue to drop in Tayside, many of those who missed their first or second dose appointments due to having Covid-19 or being a close contact in recent weeks will now be eligible to get jabbed.

“It is really important to get the vaccine, even if you have recently had the infection, to give you the best protection possible so please get along to one of our clinics when you can.”

And Dr Fletcher praised young people for coming forward for the jab.

She continued:“We are really pleased to see such a positive response from 16 and 17-year-olds in this first week since they became eligible for vaccination.

“It is really important for young adults to get the jab to protect themselves and those around them as they return to school, college and university so we would urge anyone who hasn’t yet been for the vaccine to do so as soon as possible.”

Drop-in clinics are taking place at Dewars Centre in Perth from 10am to 6pm until August 29, and from 10am until 5pm from August 30 until September 12.
