Blairgowrie Players tread the boards
The Blairgowrie Players return with another of their popular Murder Mysteries this weekend.
The local amateur dramatic group will present An Englishman in New York on Sunday, August 14, at 2.30pm in Blairgowrie Town Hall.
Featuring a cast of nine, the production features a family at war with itself.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The Englishman is a butler who, through a set of unfortunate circumstances, finds himself acting as butler to Joe, a ruthless New Yorker who has a hold over everyone else and uses this to try to gain power.
“Nobody likes him but they are too afraid to take any action. Can anyone put a stop to him?”
The audience will be treated to afternoon tea at the matinee performance while they try to decide who the murderer is, why they did it and how.
Tickets cost £12, which includes afternoon tea, and are available from The Card Gallery on Allan Street in Blairgowrie, telephone 01250 876444 or by emailing blairplayers@btinternet. com.
Then in September, the awardwinning youth section of the Blairgowrie Players hit the stage with Dracula. Performances will take place in Blairgowrie Town Hall on Friday, September 9, and Saturday September 10 at 7pm and 2pm respectively.
Tickets are £8 for adults, £5 for children, available from The Card Gallery or by emailing blairplayers@ btinternet.com.
