Glad to Care week of activities
The team at Ark Housing in Rattray held a ‘Glad to Care’ week this summer with their supported people.
‘GladtoCare Awareness Week’ is a celebration of resilient care workers, following what has been a trying period for the industry.
The week aims to show appreciation for the extraordinary contributions that carers make to the lives of recipients of care and to reassure families currently looking for care, and hopefully improve occupancy for care providers.
At Ark Housing the celebrations began with Motivation Monday, which saw the group go out for a walk and do some chair exercises. They also enjoyed a paddle in the River Ericht.
Tasty Tuesday was all about tasting different fruit and vegetables with houmous and on Welcoming Wednesday the group attended one of the regular tea dances at Blairgowrie
Town Hall.
Thankful Thursday saw staff explain why they are ‘Gladtocare’, with making a positive difference to people’s lives and putting a smile on people’s faces two reasons given by the local team.
And on Feel Good Friday, everyone enjoyed a get -together in the garden with entertainment provided by musician Bob Stewart, who had everyone singing and up dancing.
