Nominate NHS heroes

Nominations are open for this year’s Scottish Health Awards and east Perthshire residents are being urged to recognise their local health heroes on the national stage.

The Scottish Health Awards celebrate the thousands of healthcare professionals who go the extra mile to support patients, carers and service users of the NHS in Scotland.

An NHS Tayside spokesperson said: ”There was an overwhelming response to NHS Tayside’s Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Awards with over 1000 nominations so it’s clear Tayside is jampacked with health heroes.

“This is the public’s opportunity to nominate their stars once again, this time on a national stage.”

The public can nominate their health hero in one of the 16 award categories which include Support Worker, Young Achiever, Top Team, and Unsung Hero.

Nominations close at 5pm this Sunday, August 21.

The finalists will be announced in October, with the award ceremony taking place in Edinburgh in November.
