Thousands of youngsters across east Perthshire dusted off their backpacks and donned their uniforms to return to school on Wednesday last week.

The day also saw many excited children attend primary school for the very first time and many more make the formal transition to secondary school. Among the new starts was Kirkmichael Primary School pupil Jody Lochrane (5).
