Stephen’s Pride in the Job honour

-

A site manager has been awarded a top housing industry award for his work in building homes in east Perthshire.

Stephen Milne, who works for Scotia Homes on the Hazelwood development in Blairgowrie, won a Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) at their 2022 Pride in the Job Awards.

The awards celebrate site managers who have achieved the highest standards in UK house building by assessing a range of criteria at thousands of site inspections across the country.

Mr Milne (45), from Aberdeen, won a safety award from the NHBC in 2018 and four years later is one of three managers at Scotia Homes to win an award for the quality of the homes it is building.

Mr Milne will now go through to the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence, with the winners announced later this year.

He said:“It’s a real honour to receive a Pride in the Job Award, especially given the challenges in the construction industry right now.

“My team take great pride in every house they complete, and this award is a recognition of their effort.

“Blairgowrie is a new development location for Scotia Homes and I’m delighted that we have demonstrated the company’s commitment to building high quality homes across the country.”

Martin Bruce, managing director at Scotia Homes, said:“We are delighted that Stephen has received such well-deserved recognition at the Pride in the Job awards.

“Since becoming a site manager, he has displayed a commitment to exacting high quality standards and this award marks him out as one of the country’s best housebuilders.’’
