Win boost for Meigle’s women

-

Players from Meigle Cricket Club’s women’s section teamedup with counterparts from Perth Doo’cot to taste victory in the capital recently.

The joint side triumphed in a hardball fixture against Carlton at Grange Loan.

The win has fuelled determination to establish a local county squad to participate in league cricket next season.

Grace Carson, ladies’ coach at Perth Doo’cot, was delighted to link-up with Meigle and keep the ball rolling in the right direction.

She explained: “The same 12 players are keen to have a county team next season and it has all progressed very naturally. The win definitely boosts confidence.

Carson added: “Looking back from a year ago until now, everyone has got stuck in and has trusted the process.”

“The group has been so good and they are very committed.

“Once we get a county team sorted, hopefully we can then think about entering the Women’s Premier League.”
