Just a few places left for annual golf event

- MATTHEW GALLAGHER

Bookings have been rolling in for Perthshire Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf day at Strathmore Golf Centre near Alyth.

The event has been sponsored by independent financial planning firm Carbon since 2012 and this year takes place on Friday, September 16.

Organisers have said that only a few places remain for what is one of the most popular local golf days on the Perthshire sporting calendar.

Mark Christie, financial planning director of Carbon, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Perthshire Chamber Golf Day again this year and we have had this partnership for over a decade now.

“The Chamber and Strathmore Golf Centre have put together a great package for a fantastic day, which I’m sure will be very successful and I look forward to it.”

Teams of four and individuals are invited to play at the event over the club’s Rannaleroch course.

Vicki Unite, chief executive of Perthshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “It’s great that the event is selling well – it’s always a hugely enjoyable day and the setting at Strathmore Golf Centre is stunning. Final preparations are underway and we’re really looking forward to it.

“The generous support offered by Carbon is extremely welcome and we are delighted to be working together on our joint golf day once again.

“The golf course is traditionally a great place to network and meet new contacts either on the course or in the clubhouse before and afterwards - I’m sure many new business relationships will be forged at Strathmore.

“Bookings have been coming in and now only a few places remain so if people are hoping to secure their place it would be best to book soon.

“We have a great day of golf ahead and some competitions including Nearest the Pin and Longest drive to add some excitement.

“It is shaping up to be a great day and we are thoroughly looking forward to it.”

The day will start with teas, coffees and bacon rolls prior to the golf, which will be followed by a two-course meal and prizegiving ceremony.

Arrival will be from 10.30/11am for registration, leaving enough time to head out on to the course at 11.45am ready for the shotgun start at noon.

The cost for teams of four is £240 plus VAT, with single places available for £65 plus VAT.
