Blair suffer late heartbreak
After a couple of heavy defeats, Blairgowrie faced another tough task away to Midlands League challengers Dundee North End on Saturday.
However, Blair produced a stirring fightback and were only undone by a late goal, eventually going down 4-3. The highlight for Blair was a hat-trick for Cammy McManus.
North End led 2-0, then 3-1, before Blair rallied and pulled the score level at 3-3.
A shock looked like a real possibility, but The Dokens grabbed the vital winning goal in the dying embers of the match.
Another tough test awaits on Saturday as Blairgowrie are at home to Broughty Athletic in the Quest
Engineering Cup.
Kick-off is 2.30pm at Davie Park. Meanwhile, the August 29 berrypickers’weigh-in lottery numbers were 3, 6, 10 and 13.
Elsewhere, Coupar Angus suffered a 4-2 home league defeat at the hands of Dundee Violet on Saturday.
Coupar’s next league fixture is away to Dundee East Craigie on September 17.
