Exploring history in new book
Bridge of Cally Hall was packed full for the recent launch of history book ‘Glenericht’ by local man Colin McCosh.
The memoir and guidebook uses a compelling mix of maps, portraits, photographs, memories and legends to chronicle the significant impact of the glen.
Mr McCosh said Glenericht has influenced everything from the campaign for Scottish independence, European history and even the game of golf as it is known today.
He added: “‘Glenericht’ has been a labour of love for several years, researching and exploring the glen’s past, present and peculiarities.
“It was very humbling to have such an incredible turnout from friends and neighbours.
“We are keen to make sure the money raised from sales of the book goes directly to local charities, benefiting the community we know and love.”
The book has been priced at £12 and is available from Adventure Into Books in Blairgowrie.
Owner Kate Davies said: “We are huge supporters of local stories for local people.
“Understanding more about the place where we live is a constant source of fascination to our customers and providing insight into the world around us is at the very heart of what we do.”
