Reg (91) recognised
A special presentation was made to Blairgowrie man Reg Forsyth at Blairgowrie and Rattray Highland Games.
Reg (91) is the farm manager at Ardblair Estate and was presented with a long-service award from the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland to mark 70 years of continual full-time employment in Scotland’s rural and agricultural sector.
Reg was presented with a framed certificate, a silver gilt medal, vouchers and whisky by Laurence Blair Oliphant and his son Charlie.
Laurence said:“Reg started working on Arblair Estate in April 1950 and has been with us for three generations, starting with my father and now with Charlie.
“We have so much admiration for Reg and his knowledge of the land and ever-changing farm practices.
“When he started, tractors were just beginning to take over from horses on many farms, and we have been most fortunate to have had the benefit of his wisdom and experience over the years.
“He is a most deserving and worthy recipient of the recognition given to him.”
