Green day for student golfers at Alyth club

Alyth Golf Club hosted the very best student golfers from across the UK recently.

The tournament, organised by Scottish Student Sport, has visited Alyth for the past six years, apart from during the coronavirus pandemic, and has always received a warm welcome.

More than 100 young men and women from Ireland, England, Wales and across Scotland, competed over three days in late September, with the finals being played on Wednesday, September 28.

Organisers have said that competitors were very impressed with the quality of the course, with special mention of the standard of the greens.

One of the organisers, Dean Robertson – a former EuropeanTour professional and Italian Open winner in 1999 – said:“Thank you so much. Alyth is a special club, with both members and staff just class. The golf course is one of my favourites in the country.”

Winners: Gents - Will Coxon, Stirling University (74, 66 and 67).

Ladies - Lorna McClymont, Stirling University (66, 72 and 68).
