Driving ban for man (42)
A man from Meigle has been disqualified from driving and fined a total of £1050 for driving on the wrong side of the road and failing to provide information or a specimen of his breath when asked to by police.
Forty-two year-old Raymond Stanley Carr pled guilty to three charges relating to his driving behaviour on April 1 this year.
Carr, of Parkside, Meigle, admitted driving a Ford van on the B954 Alyth to Muirhead Road at excessive speeds, drifting into oncoming traffic causing other road users to take evasive action and driving along the wrong side of the carriageway.
He also admitted failing to provide a police constable with information as to the identity of the driver of the vehicle in Ardler Road in Meigle the same day.
He further admitted failing to provide two specimens of his breath at Dundee Police Station when required to on the same date without a reasonable excuse.
Addressing Carr Sheriff David Hall told Perth Sheriff Court: “This was a bad piece of driving then you failed to cooperate with police.
“This is simply unacceptable.”
Sheriff Hall fined Carr £300 for driving without due care and attention for other road users, £150 for failing to provide a police officer with information that was requested and £600 for failing to provide a specimen of his breath.
He also disqualified him from holding or obtaining a driving licence for a year.
