End of season marked at club

On Saturday, September 17, Burrelton Bowling Club president Stefan Elertowicz welcomed 14 members to the ceremony to mark the end of the current season.

In fairly good weather members played 11 ends of bowls and the winners of the prizes for the highest-up team were Susie Eisner and Alan Findlay.

Consolatio­n prizes went to Alastair Robbins, Jim Smith and Mr Elertowicz.

Tea was served and then the president thanked all the members for their continued support of the club during the year.

He said he hoped to see them all next year, along with any potential new members.

The presentati­on of the trophies then took place.

On Saturday, September 10, the club welcomed 12 members from Strathmart­ine Bowling Club and the annual friendly between the two clubs was played.

The weather was very kind and Burrelton managed to win by 48-31.

Susie Eisner, Peter Duncan, Kath Nicoll and Alan Findlay were members of the highest-up rink.

Tea was served after the game.

On Friday, September 9, hat night winners were Susie Eisner and Kath Nicoll.

On Friday, September 2, hat night winners were Rodney Beal and Alan Findlay.
