Blueberry picking was best-ever fundraiser

- Dear Editor Carol Bisset, Blairgowrie

The local committee for Macmillan Cancer Support would like to express their gratitude to Peter and Melanie Thomson, their daughter Maddie and other family and friends who helped to organise the pick your own blueberries days in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

We are amazed by the amount raised, which now exceeds £7200 and is the best fundraising event our local committee has ever been involved in.

We ourselves really enjoyed helping out and thought that children, in particular, really liked picking their own berries and for many adult it was a chance to revisit childhood memories of berry-picking.

So many people are enjoying the punnets of blueberries which they picked and thanks to the generosity of Peter, Melanie and the family it has been a huge boost to Macmillan fundraising as well.

I write with sincere thanks on behalf of all committee members and helpers for Macmillan in Blairgowrie.
