ST MARTINS PUBLIC HALL

A quiz night in the village hall takes place on Friday, October 28, from 7pm.

Entry is £10 per team, with a maximum of four players on each team.

Pre-book by messaging the ‘Balbeggie Village’ Facebook page or simply turn up on the night.

It’s a BYOB evening.

BENDOCHY CHURCH

Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev Dr Hugh Ormiston.

BLACKWATER BLACKWATER HALL

Members of Blackwater Hall committee are holding a quiz night in the hall from 7.30pm on Saturday, October 29.

Entry is £10 for a team of four, which includes a stovie supper.

There will also be a licensed bar and a raffle.

MOUNT BLAIR COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The next meeting of Mount Blair Community Council is to take place from 7pm on Monday, November 14, in Blackwater Hall.

All are welcome to attend.

BRIDGE OF CALLY CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

A Christmas Craft Fair is due to take place in Bridge of Cally Hall from 10.30am until 2.30pm on Saturday, November 19.

As well as local arts, crafts and gifts, there will be a cake and candy stall and a tombola, in addition to other attraction­s.

Entry is £2.50, which includes tea, coffee or juice and a mince pie.

BURRELTON CARGILL/BURRELTON CHURCH

Sunday’s morning worship was led by Rev Iain Bentley, with Lynne Mitchell as organist.

The service opened with the singing of ‘Lord of All Being Throned Afar’ and closing praise was ‘O God Our Help in Ages Past’.

Office-bearers on duty were Sandy Duthie, Sheena McNaughton and Iain Stevenson.

Harvest Thanksgivi­ng will be celebrated on Sunday, October 30, during which there will be a collection of dry goods.

The Blythswood box is now in the church.

Items can be donated, with the shoeboxes to be filled at a later date.

Everyone is welcome to participat­e in worship at 10am on Sundays.

COMMUNITY CAFE

Homemade soup, cake and teas and coffees are served on Tuesdays in Woodside Church Halls from noon until 1.30pm.

GUILD

Members wrapped shoeboxes for Blythswood, which will be filled at a later date.

Devotions were led by Sheena

McNaughton, with praise accompanie­d by Moira Ormiston.

The next meeting is from 2pm on Wednesday, November 9, in Woodside Church Halls.

HARVEST SUPPER

A Harvest Supper will take place from 7.30pm on Friday, October 28, in Woodside Church Halls.

Tickets are priced at £10 and are available from Sheena McNaughton on 01828 627773.

Proceeds are to be donated to Erskine Hospital and the RNLI.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

CLUNIE

KNIT AND NATTER

Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month between 2pm and 4pm in Clunie Hall.

Anyone is welcome to come along for a chat and a cuppa.

COUPAR ANGUS ABBEY CHURCH

Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev Dr Hugh Ormiston.

Readings from Isaiah ch 53, vv 4-12, 1 Peter ch 4, vv 12-16 and Mark ch 10, vv 35-45 were by Anne Richards.

Piano accompanim­ent was by Esther Jack.

The Abbey Church Harvest Festival service will be on Sunday, October 23, with donations of non-perishable food and/or money to be given to the Blairgowri­e foodbank.

A Communion service will be held in the Abbey Church on Sunday, October 30, with a retiring collection for the same foodbank.

Sunday’s service at the Abbey Church is at 11.15am, followed by teas and coffees.

COFFEE MORNING

A Bible Society coffee morning is to take place in St Anne’s Church in Forfar Road from 10am until noon on Saturday, November 5.

There will be the usual stalls. Entry is £3 and all are welcome.

PRAISE EVENING

A praise evening is to be held in St Anne’s Church on Forfar Road from 6.30pm on Sunday, November 6.

KETTINS VILLAGE LUNCHES

Monthly village lunches are once again taking place at Kettins Community Hub in Lindsay Park.

Running from noon to 1pm and on a Wednesday each time, the upcoming dates are October 19, November 16 and December 14.

Locals and visitors alike are invited to enjoy soup and a roll, or sandwiches and cake. The price is £3 per person.

Organisers have said they are pleased to welcome back Kettins Primary School pupils to help with both the serving and the clearing-up afterwards.

KINCLAVEN CHURCH

Sunday’s service at Kinclaven – the 18th Sunday after Pentecost – was led by Rosemary Patterson.

Janet Coyle played the organ and scripture lessons from Luke ch 11, vv 5-13, and Galatians ch 5, vv 16-25, were read by Mike Service.

They featured the promise and descriptio­n of the Holy Spirit.

Sunday’s service is from 9.45am will be led by Rev Richard Campbell.

All are welcome to attend.

GUILD

The Guild meets on Thursday, October 20, in the hall from 2pm.

New members and visitors are always welcome.

KINROSSIE KINROSSIE HALL

The Kinrossie Hall AGM takes place on Tuesday, October 25.

Trustees are asked to attend from 7pm, with the AGM getting under way at 7.30pm.
