- JOHNATHON MENZIES

Perth and Kinross Council’s housing office in Blairgowrie re-opened to the public on Monday this week.

The Leslie Street facility is now open from 9am until 5pm on Mondays and from 9am until 1pm on Tuesdays andWednesdays.

The local authority has said these arrangements are intended to ensure that housing offices are accessible to members of the public, as well as enabling staff to visit tenants in the local community.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, in-person access for customers and visitors to PKC’s Pullar House and 2 High Street chambers in Perth and some locality offices – including the one in Blairgowrie – has been limited.

As of Monday this week, the Pullar House reception will be open from 8.45am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Customer Service Centre staff will be on hand to welcome visitors and assist them in accessing the services they require.

Appointments can be made by calling 01738 475000 to ensure the right person is available to help.

The reception at 2 High Street is now open from 8.45am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Appointments with the Registrars team will continue to be offered via the reception.

In addition to the above arrangements, a virtual assistant will also be trialled at 2 High Street to enable external visitors attending for meetings or interviews to do a what a spokesperson described as a self check-in.

Karen Donaldson, the council’s chief operating officer, said:“We will be providing increased access to our main offices for people who need in-person contact; however we’d also continue to encourage anyone who can get in touch with us digitally to do so, whether by email, telephone, webchat or via our MyPKC portal, which is available 24 hours-a-day, as the simplest and most convenient way to make contact.”
