Quiz and bake sale help to boost hut fund
Two events over the weekend raised almost £1000 for the new Guide Hall in Blairgowrie between them.
Half came from a well-attended quiz night at Blairgowrie Golf Club on Friday, October 21, hosted by Blairgowrie Rotarians.
The other half was realised following a collection and bake sale held in the town’s Tesco car park the following day.
Rotarians were delighted to help with the collection.
An added attraction came in the form of Colin Stewart bringing along his 1953 Jaguar XK120.
Spectators were invited to make a donation to have their picture taken with the car.
The cake sale went well and there was much interest in the old uniforms – some of which dated back to the 1930s – and archive material displayed in the gazebo.
They will also be on display at GirlGuiding’s coffee and craft sale on November 12 in Blairgowrie Town Hall.
It will fun from 10.30am until 2pm at the Brown Street venue.
