Popular festive lightsto return

- CLARE DAMODARAN

Volunteers from Blairgowrie and Rattray Illuminations Committee (BRIC) hope to put up the town’s Christmas lights and decorations on both sides of the river this weekend.

The new chair of the committee, Scott MacGregor, said that work to put up the lights and decorations would get under way at 7.30am on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

And he added that, as many of the lights were new this year, they may take a little bit longer than usual to put up as the volunteers would be doing it for the first time.

Mr MacGregor said: “We’re delighted to have some stunning new lights for the town this year and are looking forward to everyone seeing them.

“However, as this is the first time that we are putting many of the lights up, it might take us a bit longer, and we would therefore appreciate the patience of local drivers should there be any delays.”
