Come and try rugby at club

-

Blairgowrie RFC is hosting an open training session on Thursday this week.

The evening kicks off at 7pm at the club’s JJ Coupar Recreation Park base and has been planned to provide anyone interested with an introduction to the sport.

Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to head along to find out more.

In advance of the session taking place, club representatives could be seen at Blairgowrie’s Tesco store on Sunday raising awareness.

Blair RFC’s Andy McOuat said:“Calum Thom, Jordan Lynn, Scott Wightman, Oran Clark, Jai Clark, Steven Stewart, Fraser Bissett and John McLaren gave up their time to hand out fliers at the local Tesco.

“Massive thank you to them all and sure it will have the desired effect to encourage more people, as there was a lot of positive feedback, to come along to try playing this great game.

“We’re asking everyone to please encourage anyone 16 or older they may know to get along to the JJ Coupar pitches on Thursday, November 3.”

For any new players, there is free membership for the first season and the club has said that equipment can be provided.
