ARTEFACT re­de­fines the state of the art with an em­pha­sis on the en­vi­ron­ment and guest ex­pe­ri­ence

Fol­low­ing 18 months in NOBISKRUG’S cli­mate-con­trolled superyacht hall in Rends­burg, m/y ARTEFACT have been pub­licly vis­i­ble for the first time in july. the composite su­per­struc­ture has been com­pleted, the steel hull has un­der­gone ex­ten­sive works, both were filled, faired and painted, and in­te­gral el­e­ments of this highly tech­ni­cal build have been suc­cess­fully com­pleted. At a length of 80 me­ters with a 14.6-me­tre beam and gross ton­nage of 2,990 tons, ARTEFACT’S in­no­va­tive de­sign by gre­gory C. mar­shall is dis­tin­guished by a num­ber of new tech­no­log­i­cal and en­gi­neer­ing fea­tures, such as:

• The use of so­lar pan­els and a large bat­tery stor­age sys­tem that al­lows the ves­sel to op­er­ate for a lim­ited time with no in­ter­nal com­bus­tion en­gines op­er­at­ing;

• An in­no­va­tive Dc-bus diesel-elec­tric Azi­pod propul­sion sys­tem de­vel­oped by Abb com­bined with dy­namic po­si­tion­ing that can hold po­si­tion with­out drop­ping an­chor to pro­tect sen­si­tive sea floor – cus­tom six-bladed pro­pel­lers min­i­mize noise and vi­bra­tion while max­i­miz­ing per­for­mance and ef­fi­ciency;

• A waste­water re­cy­cling sys­tem for re-use as tech­ni­cal wa­ter; des­ig­na­tion as among the first su­pery­achts to meet imo tier iii emis­sions reg­u­la­tion;

• An un­prece­dented floor-to-ceil­ing glass cen­tral sec­tion com­pli­ment­ing 740 square me­ters of curved and ex­pres­sive glass­work weigh­ing al­most 60 tons.

As ARTEFACT moves into pub­lic view, ex­te­rior de­vel­op­ments in­clude the in­stal­la­tion of sta­bi­liz­ers and bow thrusters for ma­neu­ver­abil­ity and com­fort at sea, a mov­able bathing plat­form for easy ac­cess to the wa­ter, and the fit­ting of au­to­mated sun awn­ings, teak deck­ing and fixed fur­ni­ture. in­side, the unique and ground break­ing cus­tom Rey­mond Lang­ton-de­signed in­te­rior, fur­ni­ture and art­work is be­ing fi­nal­ized and ex­pertly in­stalled. the com­mis­sion­ing, in­clud­ing har­bour Ac­cep­tance tests, will be fi­nal­ized at the pier, cul­mi­nat­ing in sea tri­als be­fore ARTEFACT’S de­liv­ery
