-

Whether the decision to buy a yacht is fuelled by a deep passion for the ocean or a desire to experience the ultimate freedom, the search for the perfect yacht comes with a long list of personal requirements. While some yacht owners look for the newest and sleekest, others appreciate classic lines and a long history. From restored classics to uniquely converted explorers, the provenance and personality behind these more unusual yachts might just make you fall in love with them a little bit more.

1 TRAFALGAR

Originally launched as MOONMAIDEN in 1975, this 39m yacht was a regular charter favourite in the Mediterranean. Following her sale in 2012, MOONMAIDEN underwent an extensive refit in the UK and was relaunched as TRAFALGAR. Delivering a modern take on the classic cruiser, her satin finished French mahogany interior is now complemented by stylish fabrics, while her expansive deck areas offer relaxed seating, sunbathing and informal dining. Five generous staterooms provide accommodation for ten guests including a superb master on the main deck. Now lovingly reinstated to sparkling condition, radiating a stylish blend of contemporary meets traditional, this piece of yachting history is ready for a new Owner to let the good times roll.

2 ARIONAS

Launched in 1967 by British flagship yard Clelands, classic 40m superyacht ARIONAS is a piece of living history, capturing the essence of a bygone era. Undergoing a complete renovation in 2011, the yacht was lovingly restored by a team of professional craftsmen who brought back her original vivacious spirit together with upgraded technology. Sourcing precious woods, high quality steel and innovative paint solutions, the project also showcase the robust reliability of her original mechanics seamlessly combined with modern touches. Today ARIONAS has been carefully maintained in pristine condition and proudly displays the outstanding results of her restoration project, still powered by her original Rolls Royce engines.

3 BULLY

Built in 1965, unique 27.5m motor yacht BULLY underwent a remarkably comprehensive three-year conversion in 2014, benefiting from a superstructure extension, bulkhead refit and new teak decks, plus so much more. With plans to sail in hot and humid climates, the yacht’s interior insulation has been maximised to increase efficiency of the new air conditioning system and ensure comfort whilst cruising worldwide. Full of character and offering unique accommodation for six guests in three staterooms, the contemporary interior radiates a cosy home-from-home vibe. Strong and spacious, this former tugboat is ready to take a discerning Owner on the adventure of a lifetime.
