About ANTHONY BANNWART
Anthony Bannwart is a Swiss conceptual interdisciplinary artist and designer, born in the watchmaking town of La Chaux-de-fonds at 1000m altitude, who grew up among most original watchmaking designs and legendary time-pieces within his family watch brand CORUM worn by such as Elvis Presley and American presidents, but thanks to his father’s passion for sailing, were also successful on the seas with their famous Corum Sailing Team winner of the 1991 Admiral’s Cup for France among other titles. The insatiable creativity and fluidity among materials and disciplines together with thorough researched concepts and productions mark the career of Anthony Bannwart. Anthony Bannwart looks for a timeless approach, universal themes, and keeps a certain closeness to poetry within his creation. The artist is known for his tributes to great art and science figures, such as Buckminster Fuller, Le Corbusier, Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Novalis, among others. His installations RESILIENCE and his painting series (APRÈS) L’EXTASE were exhibited in art centers, galeries and art fairs in Switzerland, London, Paris, Seoul, Hong Kong, New York, Hanoi, Budapest, or Sofia, among others. The artist lives and works in Switzerland.
