Community Café SWI Wednesday Club

Open on Wednesdays from 10.30am to noon, in the Church Hall. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served. We do not charge for refreshmen­ts – donations are welcome. All are welcome!

“Gardening Hits and Tips” is the topic on the programme for the next SWI meeting on Thursday, March 21 at 2pm in the Bowling Club.

The speakers are keen local gardeners who will share their years of experience to enhance our gardens as we look forward to the new growing season.

Competitio­ns for the meeting are: Three slices of fruit loaf and an Item beginning with the letter T.

Visitors are welcome at a charge of £3 to include tea and biscuits - please bring your own cup.

The Club had another excellent meeting with guest speaker Pauline Williams from The Lavender Touch, Pauline spoke about the beginning of the Lavender Touch and how it is supporting those living with Cancer and their Carers in the Scottish Borders, she also explained about their products and how they help with the massage and other various methods of relaxation etc. Winners of the Competitio­n – A Lavender Bag – 1st Jean O’Brien, 2nd Wilma Moffat, 3rd Gillian Stenhouse. Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 20, meet in the Church Hall at 2pm. Competitio­n is A Tea Towel from Aboard. Tea and biscuits are served. We look forward to seeing you all there and welcome any new ladies or gents who would like to join our happy Club.
