BIG FISH PRODUCTION OF BOOK AND FILM

- By TARGET REPORTER news@targetseries.co.uk

BOSMTG returns to the Blackfriars stage with a brand new production, never before seen on the Boston stage. The story of Big Fish will be familiar to anyone who has read the 1998 novel by Danny Wallace, or seen the 2003 film by the same name, starring Ewan McGregor and Danny DeVito.

In 2013, this brand new musical version of the story had a successful run on Broadway, followed by its West End premiere in 2017 - and now, it comes to the Boston stage, performed by the immense talent of the BOS cast.

Anyone who has seen any of their award-winning performances over the last few years will know that this is one not to be missed.

Big Fish is a magical tale about a son’s desire to connect with his father as he discovers that he is soon to become a father himself.

The musical is a light-hearted exploration of the love and frustrations that exist between parents and children, as the son begins to investigate all of the tall stories his father has told throughout his life, trying to discover the truth about the man he so desperately wants to know and understand.

It is a musical full of life, the ups and the downs, the joys and the sadness, the truth behind the fantasies, witches, giants, werewolves, mermaids and a whole circus troupe.

It is a moving story told with humour and magic, suitable for all the family - a story with depth and substance for the most serious minds combined with enough magic to enchant the whole family.

Having performed many wellknown shows in recent times, BOSMTG decided to take a chance on bringing something less well known to the stage, and they are very exited to perform it.

Big Fish opened on April 17 and runs until April 20, 2024 at Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre, Boston, at 7.30pm each evening, with a matinee at 2.30pm on the Sunday.
