This can be as little as a five minute walk to a 5k run in the gym. Mix it up by trying things like one minute of rowing, followed by one minute resting, and repeating this a few times, to get a high-intensity interval type workout for your cardio session (this will help to reduce fat and increase the capacity of the cardioresp­iratory system).

Even having a long distance jog or long distance row will encourage your body to go into the fat-burning zone before you start lifting and shifting weights.
