Bow is 150! I’m John Stanley, the current editor. I started archery in 2010 and ended up blogging about it, working for several manufacturers and writing for various organisations including World Archery. I was a pretty regular contributor to Bow during Nicola Turner’s reign, and took over when she decided to move on in February 2018. My first issue was 123, so this is my 28th edition. I’d had writing experience but taking on the editor role was a whole different kettle of fish. Essentially, it requires you to keep dozens of plates spinning at the same time. A magazine is formed by the publisher and the ad team, and the views of contributors and writers – but it is always shaped by the editor.
