THE GOSSIP MILL WITH MIMI LANDSTRÖM

-

As usual at the the South Point, there was plenty of gossip floating about the corridors. This year didn't host multiple Koreans losing their Olympic bonuses at roulette, although Olympic gold medallist Juan Carlos Holgado was enjoying a dabble at the gambling tables on Friday night in the late hours of the evening.

Someone – rumour has it is was a compound archer with a vowel-heavy surname – was blamed for shooting an arrow into the jumbo TV screen during the VIP practice. Sky draws, kids. Just say no.

When Christopher Perkins, a previous winner and perennial shootdown contender shot a 29 at the least to leave the championship, a less-kind member of the crowd shouted ‘see ya Perkins’. Minutes later, Bob Eyler left the competition to a ‘what the f***’ from the same area of the seating within the arena.

Levi Morgan was spotted at the Mexican restaurant at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa eating alone. Because he can, being that cool. Surprisingly, the Irish contingent behaved themselves this year. With no outrageous stories, mainly because at least one prominent WAG was there to keep a certain well-known hard-partying archer in check.

Same time next year?
