CRIPPS STEPS UP
Martin Webb reports on a Harwich home show
HARWICH BOXING CLUB staged their 14th annual dinner show on January 19 in conjunction with Colchester United FC at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
The host club provided 15 contests, with eight of their own boxers in action, including six victories.
English ranked lightheavyweight Patrick Allen Cripps stepped up to cruiserweight to take on Attleborough ABC’S
Ezra Arenyeka over the three-threes distance. Patrick pushed Arenyeka back for most of the contest with his fast hands and extra experience coming to the fore as he edged each round. Nonetheless, Arenyeka’s awkward style saw him have his own moments, scoring well with counter-punches. Patrick took the spoils on a unanimous points decision. RESULTS Senior: D.
